Analysis of pop videos 2

Sound

In this music video it starts of similar to the One Direction one in the previous analysis but builds up into a fast paced song, it is low toned at first but at 0:36 the pace kicks in and everything from being low and won becomes very upbeat and exciting, this is a great use of sound in this music video as you have the background noise from the instruments and the singer in sync which works well, the sound fits in well with the video as the video builds up with the sound and then releases at 0:36 where you notice a massive change, it very energetic and makes this video brilliant for this genre as it has the correct requirements for a pop genre.

Love Me Again

Cinematography

This is a good for for this video to use as it is setting the scene for the audience to get a good idea of what is going on, this high angle long shot shows us people haveing fun and danceing with joy to the music which works really well as this is a up beat pop song.

These two shots here are very similar although hey are different shows, the first one is a close up used to identify the ginger whilst the second one is a low angle shot used to show him singing and to identify him to the audience, This is so the audience know who the singer is and create a link between him and this song, these shots work well as the establish him well to the audience which is an important requirement for a music video and also make him the main focus and not let him become drowned out by the cut aways which is also very important and what makes the such a good music video.

Mise en scene/performance

With this clip you get a clear view of the mise scene hear and how they perform, the people the singer is smartly dressed  whilst the people on the dance floor are wearing party type clothes. This is to show the audience and give them a clear concept on what type of music video this is, the performers are also very active by dancing to this high paced music on the dance floor, this is very good in showing what this video is all about, by peole being active and not all just sitting about we get this sense of enjoyment as people are having fun with others which reflects well with the music video and the song in the background.
This is a good example of the mise en scene, you have the boy and girl look into each others eyes, the girl gives an awkward smile it seems at first but the boy remains confident and keeps looking rather than looking down at the floor, because of these two particular shots we know from this that something is going to happen between these two performers and it adds to the excitment of the video as we then wonder what is going to happen next between these two people, this is great for this style video as it adds to the excitement and we from here on are expecting them two to get together and be happy which reflects a pop video well as it is a about creating a happy atmosphere. Also they are both wearing dark colours which could suggest they are outcasts to society and yet they find each other and are happy.

Editing

The editing in this clip is a perfect example of what a pop music video should be like, it cuts between the performances and singer on a regular basis at a fast past and also cuts to the beat of the music on occasions which gives a good effect, this works really well as these conventions used help build the video up and make it fit more together with the fast aced song. The song uses simple cuts which work very effective as it makes it quicker to get from one shot to another keeping the pace high and putting something fresh in your mind.
